- Multiple projects spanning the last 20 years.
- An estimated 1.5 million pine trees planted.
- Timber sales generating an estimated 500,000 in revenue to be re-invested directly back to Duette Preserve
Fox Branch Ranch Mitigation Bank
- Restoring habitat from pasture to longleaf/wire grass flatwoods.
- Multiple herbicide applications to remove non-target species.
- Planting 1,000,000 wire grass plugs and 15,000 longleaf pines
Destiny - Grasshopper Sparrow Burn
- The Florida Grasshopper Sparrow is a federally endangered bird found no where else in the world
- One of four sub species of Grasshopper Sparrows in North America, the Florida Grasshopper Sparrow does not migrate, living here year round.
- Florida Grasshopper Sparrows is extremely habitat specific and relies on fire every two to three years to maintain its habitat.
Polk County - Crooked Lake Timber Management
- Selective harvest of slash pine, long leaf pine trees
- Timber harvest promotes regeneration, and helps to maintain health and vigor of the pine stand
- Provides a return on investment for land owner.
